About Rua Transport Ltd

RTL (Rua Transport Ltd) is New Zealand–owned, and all the directors work alongside our other drivers, helping out where needed. They can seamlessly switch between managing the office, organising deliveries, loading trucks, or delivering and installing appliances when work levels require it. Rua was formed because Rua is the Māori word for “two” — this business represents the owners’ second chance to work with and alongside FPA, having all been owner-drivers or worked for FPA for over 10 years.

RTL was established in 2013 and has customised and dedicated its operations — a team of 14 staff and 14 freight vehicles — to create an efficient and reliable distribution service. We’ve made your business our business, successfully delivering and installing over 2 million appliances across our combined service. Over the past two years, our team has grown by 55%, and our fleet has expanded by 130% — from 6 to 14 freight vehicles — to meet the growing demand in the greater Auckland metro area. Deliveries have increased by 15% per year. We currently deliver from Wellsford and Mangawhai down to Hamilton and are actively exploring ways to expand our service area. Our fleet includes vans and 6-wheeler trucks, all fitted with tail lifts and a mix of box bodies and curtainsiders.

We offer same-day or next-day delivery services, specialising in appliance deliveries and installations. Our premium service includes delivery, installation, removal of packaging, and recycling of old products. We also deliver pallets and other goods throughout the greater Auckland area, as needed.

Our drivers — including the owners, who still deliver daily — are trained in appliance installation and attend regular workshops when new Fisher & Paykel products are released, ensuring we continue to offer a premium installation service.

Technology plays an essential role at RTL. All our trucks are fitted with GPS tracking, allowing us to locate any truck and driver in real time. This also helps us monitor safety by tracking speeds and vehicle locations, predict delivery times more accurately, and keep customers informed of any delays due to traffic or other issues.
